Fat Injection (Autologous Fat Transfer) in Turkey
Fat Injection (Autologous Fat Transfer)
With aging, facial volume loss becomes more noticeable. Changes such as:
• Hollowing of the cheeks
• Deepening of nasolabial folds
• Volume loss around the eyes
• Reduced projection of the cheekbones
may cause the face to appear tired or aged.
While dermal fillers can temporarily restore volume, autologous fat transfer offers a natural and biologically active alternative.
About the Surgeons
Fat grafting procedures at Anka are performed by Assoc. Prof. Gamze Bektaş, MD and Assoc. Prof. Anı Çinpolat, MD — both EBOPRAS-certified plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeons based in Istanbul, Turkey.
With advanced training in reconstructive surgery and regenerative medicine, their approach combines precise fat processing techniques with anatomical facial analysis. The goal is subtle volume restoration that preserves facial identity while improving contour and skin quality.
Each treatment plan is individually designed according to facial structure, skin condition, and long-term expectations.
What Is Fat Grafting?
Fat grafting is a procedure in which fat tissue is harvested from the patient’s own body, processed, and reinjected into areas requiring volume restoration.
Because the tissue originates from the patient, it is considered an autologous treatment.
Common donor areas include:
• Abdomen
• Waist
• Hips
Advantages of Fat Transfer
Using the patient’s own fat offers several benefits:
• No synthetic or foreign materials are introduced
• Minimal risk of allergic reaction
• Presence of adipose-derived stem cells
Beyond volume restoration, fat grafting may contribute to:
• Improved skin texture
• Enhanced vitality
• Subtle improvement in skin brightness
When indicated, the harvested fat may be further refined using specialized processing techniques to enhance regenerative potential.
Longevity and Number of Sessions
A portion of the injected fat may naturally be reabsorbed over time.
If partial volume loss occurs within 6–12 months, additional sessions may be considered.
In many patients, 2–3 sessions may be required to achieve stable and long-lasting results.
Procedure and Recovery
During the procedure:
• The donor area is anesthetized
• Fat is gently harvested using a cannula
• The fat is purified and prepared
• Micro-injections are placed into targeted facial areas
Swelling typically decreases significantly within several days.
Patients are usually discharged the same day and can resume daily activities shortly thereafter, depending on the extent of treatment.
