Face and Neck Lift in Turkey
Face and Neck Lift
Aging is a natural biological process, and its most visible effects appear on the face and neck. Over time, patients may notice:
• Sagging of the cheeks and jawline
• Deepening of nasolabial folds
• Loosening of neck skin
• Under-eye bags
• Loss of facial volume
While early signs of aging may respond to non-surgical treatments, advanced skin laxity and tissue descent typically require surgical correction for meaningful and long-lasting improvement.
About the Surgeon
Face and neck lift procedures at Anka are performed by Assoc. Prof. Gamze Bektaş, MD, and Assoc. Prof. Anı Çinpolat, MD — both EBOPRAS-certified plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeons based in Istanbul, Turkey.
With extensive surgical experience and participation in Turkey’s first face transplantation team, their approach combines anatomical precision with aesthetic balance. The goal is not an artificial appearance, but natural rejuvenation that preserves facial identity and expression.
Each surgical plan is individually tailored following comprehensive facial analysis and detailed consultation.
Face Lift Surgery
A face lift (rhytidectomy) addresses sagging of the lower face and jawline by repositioning deeper facial structures rather than simply tightening the skin.
During the procedure:
• Incisions are placed within the hairline
• Continue along the natural crease in front of the ear
• Extend behind the ear when necessary
The SMAS layer (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) is carefully repositioned and tightened to restore structural support. Excess skin is then conservatively removed, and the skin is redraped to achieve a natural contour.
Surgery typically lasts around 3–4 hours.
Hospital stay is usually 1–2 nights.
Bruising and swelling are expected in the early postoperative period and generally improve significantly within the first week.
Neck Lift
Neck lift surgery is commonly combined with a face lift to improve definition of the jawline and neck contour.
Surgical access may include:
• Incisions behind the ears
• A small incision beneath the chin when required
During surgery:
• Excess submental fat is removed
• Platysma muscles are tightened
• Loose skin is excised to restore neck definition
A compression garment is typically worn for approximately 4 weeks.
Combined Procedures
Depending on patient anatomy and goals, additional procedures such as:
• Eyelid surgery
• Fat grafting
• Rhinoplasty
may be performed during the same surgical session to achieve harmonious rejuvenation.
Risks and Considerations
As with any surgical procedure, potential risks include bleeding, hematoma, delayed wound healing, sensory changes, and in rare cases, temporary weakness of facial movements.
With proper patient selection and experienced surgical technique, these risks are minimized.
Long-Term Results
A face and neck lift does not stop aging but effectively repositions facial tissues to a more youthful state.
With stable weight and healthy lifestyle habits, results are long-lasting. Mild age-related changes may gradually reappear over time and can often be managed with non-surgical treatments.
