PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an autologous regenerative treatment prepared from the patient’s own blood.

A small blood sample is collected and processed using specialized centrifugation techniques to isolate plasma enriched with platelets and growth factors. This concentrated plasma is then injected into the targeted area to stimulate tissue repair and cellular regeneration.

PRP supports the body’s natural healing mechanisms rather than introducing foreign substances.

About the Surgeons

Assoc. Prof. Gamze Bektaş, MD and Assoc. Prof. Anı Çinpolat, MD are EBOPRAS-certified plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeons based in Istanbul, Turkey. Both hold a master’s degree in stem cell and tissue engineering.

PRP for Skin Rejuvenation

When applied to the face, PRP may:

• Improve skin vitality and brightness
• Enhance overall skin texture
• Support reduction of fine lines
• Stimulate collagen production

PRP does not create artificial volume. Instead, it aims to improve the biological quality of the skin.

For optimal results, treatment is typically performed in a series of three sessions at approximately three-week intervals, depending on individual skin condition and treatment goals.

PRP for Hair Restoration

PRP is frequently used in scalp treatments to support:

• Hair follicle nourishment
• Improved microcirculation
• Strengthening of hair shafts
• Reduction of hair shedding in selected cases

It is commonly applied after hair transplantation to enhance graft survival and support hair growth.

PRP may also be combined with other treatments such as mesotherapy or laser therapy when clinically indicated.

Treatment Quality and Preparation

The quality of PRP preparation significantly influences treatment effectiveness.

In our clinic, we use high-quality PRP preparation systems to ensure optimal platelet concentration and consistency.

In selected patients with skin dehydration, PRP formulations combined with hyaluronic acid may be used to provide both regenerative and hydration-supportive effects.

Important Considerations

PRP is a supportive regenerative treatment and does not replace surgical procedures when structural correction is required.

Treatment protocols are individualized based on indication, tissue quality, and patient expectations.
