HIFU – Non-Surgical Facelift

HIFU – Non-Surgical Facelift

High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-surgical skin tightening and lifting treatment used to address mild to moderate skin laxity.

By delivering focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin surface without damaging the epidermis, HIFU stimulates the deeper supportive structures of the face and neck. The treatment is most commonly applied to:

• Face
• Jawline
• Neck

About the Surgeons

Hifu and regenerative treatments at Anka, including HIFU, are performed under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Gamze Bektaş, MD and Assoc. Prof. Anı Çinpolat, MD — both EBOPRAS-certified plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeons based in Istanbul, Turkey.

As board-certified plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeons, both hold a master’s degree in stem cell and tissue engineering, which supports their evidence-based approach to regenerative therapies.

Their treatment philosophy prioritizes scientific indication, tissue quality improvement, and patient-specific planning rather than temporary or volume-based aesthetic solutions.

How Does HIFU Work?

HIFU uses specialized transducers targeting depths of approximately:

• 3.0 mm
• 4.5 mm

This allows energy delivery not only to the dermis but also to the deeper fascial support layer (SMAS), the same structural layer addressed during surgical facelift procedures.

Ultrasound energy is converted into controlled thermal stimulation within the targeted tissues, leading to:

• Tightening of deep supportive structures
• Stimulation of collagen production
• Gradual lifting effect
• Improvement in fine lines over time

Procedure and Recovery

HIFU is performed in an office setting and typically takes 45–60 minutes.

After treatment:

• Significant redness or downtime is not expected
• Patients can return to daily activities immediately
• Mild tenderness may occur temporarily

While subtle tightening may be noticed early, optimal results typically appear within 2–3 months as collagen remodeling progresses.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

HIFU is most suitable for patients with:

• Mild to moderate skin laxity
• Early sagging of the jawline or neck
• Preference for non-surgical intervention

It does not replace surgical facelift in cases of advanced tissue laxity.
